My Extension Questions!

As we talked about in class… curiosity and asking questions IS a foundation science lays upon.

Biological Impacts of Detox:

What physiological changes occur in children's brains during and after digital detox interventions, and how do these changes correlate with reduced electronic screen addiction?

As an extension to an extension question…

If an experiment were set up where children actually underwent a detox rather than just attending informational sessions, what changes would be observed in the brain, and would this approach ultimately prove more effective in the long term compared to the detox intervention information sessions explored in the Egypt article? For instance, are certain neurotransmitters released that signify an increase in attention? Are there chemicals that relate to distinct emotions?

Family Units:

On a continuous spectrum, where does the maximum strength of the family unit tend to fall? Does it lean towards households with absolutely no technology, or does it sway towards those where technology dominates? We discussed parent-child interactions, but is there a sweet spot that exists with just enough technology to maximize its strength?

Extreme But Interesting Hypothetical Questions:

What would happen if children were raised in an environment where technology acted as their primary caregiver, providing emotional support and guidance? Would it impact their cognitive executive functions, where there is an alteration of self-directed behaviour?

How might children's emotional intelligence be impacted if they grew up in a virtual reality world entirely devoid of physical interactions?

Brain-Machine Interface Related:

What impact would it have on children's mental health if they were constantly monitored and tracked by advanced surveillance technology from birth? (Privacy Issues)

Full Dive VR:

Can children's physical fitness and coordination improve if they engage in physical activities within virtual reality environments that simulate extreme sports and adventures? Would this result in addictive behaviour which may isolate them from the physical world?
